What is a veterinary nutritionIST?

Veterinary nutritionists are veterinarians with intensive additional training in nutrition. After earning a degree in veterinary medicine and completing an internship, a clinical nutrition residency includes at least two years of extensive clinical work, research, and teaching responsibilities. Residency-trained veterinarians are required to write up case reports, publish scientific research, and pass a rigorous examination in order to become board-certified Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition (DACVN).
